What We Do

We developed a map of agrofood by-products in the EUROACE region with which we aim to bring value to the rising sector of by-product use and management.

With a web aplication, the sector may quantify the quantity of by-products generated in certain areas in order to be able to more efficiently use them either individually or by blending them in production or seasonal proportions.

Thus, we intend to get the best out of the various technologies used for by-product treatment by taking advantage of them throughout different agricultural or production seasons.

How We Do It

The EUROACE Agrofood By-Product Map consists of:

  1. Identifying the geographic areas of generation
  2. Quantifying the volume and seasonality of by-product production
  3. Analytical evaluation (Fractions of interest vs. Contaminants)
  4. Creating a Database via a WEB application

The actions to be undertaken focus on different types of agrofood by-products generated:

  • Livestock by-products
  • Food by-products of animal origin
  • Food by-products of plant origin
